Today, more than ever before, we are working and interacting with people from all parts of the world with many different cultural backgrounds. One’s culture not only shows up in their language, religion and dress. It can also influence how a person thinks, communicates and views roles, relationships and concepts like time.
This course will help you build your cultural competence to better understand and communicate with people from different backgrounds, helping to foster a more positive and inclusive environment for everyone.
This course is developed towards WCAG compliance.
SHIFT developed this course with the goal of making it as accessible as possible to the broadest group of learners. This includes:
- optimizing all screens for use with screen-reader devices
- adding closed captioning
- providing alternative functionality to complex interactions
- providing clear navigation instructions
- including image descriptions where necessary
