Karen’s primary focus is developing innovative and creative content for both business and client needs. Karen’s background in History and Political Science and certification in Diversity and Inclusion Leadership lend well to her passion for learning and creating new ideas that will help clients build positive, diverse and inclusive work environments that boost employee morale and productivity. Karen is the mother of three active boys, and she is proud to hold the titles of baseball and hockey mom. She is an avid runner, podcast enthusiast and lover of the beach. She is passionate about her family, friends and making a positive impact on our culture.

Robert graduated from NJIT in May 2018 with a degree in Information Technology and a minor in Computer Science. By practicing coding in his free time, Robert was able to build his own website to show off his portfolio of work. Robert works at SHIFT as an Implementation Associate, where he thoroughly enjoys assisting clients as they begin their partnership with SHIFT. Robert grew up with two older sisters and now lives with his mom and her husband, as well as at his dad’s. Robert is of both Irish and Italian descent and enjoys playing video games or drawing, painting, or creating websites in his free time.

David has been deeply engrossed in technology for the majority of his life. Coming from a self-taught background in IT, he finds passion in helping others through his knowledge and experience. David loves supporting clients at SHIFT – building strong relationships with them as they are onboarded and beyond while also coordinating projects, curating content, and testing courses to ensure they are up to our standards. As an artist at heart, David enjoys illustrating in his free time. He also has an avid interest in aviation and is in the process of pursuing a private pilot’s license.

Dillon loves developing technology solutions. He is dedicated to providing a smooth implementation process for all our clients, and he provides ongoing client support for administrators and learners. His family reunions seat 100 and feed over 250 people. An interesting fact about Dillon is that he can almost dunk a basketball. He is passionate about his work as a lifeguard with a Special Olympics swim team.

Grace is passionate about helping others and creating meaningful work that supports both clients and her team. With a background in business management and psychology, she enjoys bringing organization, creativity, and attention to detail to her work each day. Outside of work, Grace loves spending time with her family, husband, and mini Goldendoodle, traveling, volunteering, and pursuing creative interests like music and interior design.

Leslie has devoted her career to helping clients develop creative and highly effective customized online course materials. She has guided instructors and learners through the implementation process and provided ongoing support and training to ensure a consistently smooth online experience. Her mother was British and her father is from the South, so she can quickly switch from one accent to another. Being born in Taiwan and spending her formative years in California contribute to her Zen demeanor. Her passion is living a healthy lifestyle, and she loves being a food and exercise fanatic.

Laurah is a two-time Rutgers University alumna with degrees in Information Technology and a master’s degree in Information.. She’s passionate about connecting people with technology in meaningful, practical ways. From providing support to clients and learners to helping improve systems, Laurah enjoys making technology useful and approachable for the people who rely on it every day. Born in Kenya and raised in New Jersey, Laurah is also a plant mom to nearly 40 houseplants. Outside of work, she loves cooking, hiking, attending concerts, and volunteering at community gardens.

Carolyn holds a Ph.D. in social psychology from Stanford University, where her research focused on unconscious biases and shortcomings in social inference that give rise to misunderstanding and conflict. She utilizes her knowledge and experience to inform SHIFT’s innovative approach to HR compliance training. Carolyn grew up in an Italian-American family on Staten Island and loves spending time outdoors, doing any kind of activity with her husband and children. She is passionate about the power of empathy, and she holds a volunteer position as a crisis counselor where she gets to exercise those beliefs.

As a Senior Business Executive spending over two decades building luxury brands across the globe in the fashion and apparel industry, Nicole was ready to embrace a new challenge. In search of a purpose-driven company, she said goodbye to fashion and hello to SHIFT HR Compliance. If you asked Nicole what brought her here, she would tell you SHIFT’s values of igniting positive change in the workplace were aligned with her pursuit of deeper meaning in her professional career.

Today Nicole thrives leaning into her years of experience in cultivating deep relationships and bringing value to others. She is slightly customer obsessed turning clients into raving fans. Never wavering from her mantra, ‘Deliver, Excel, Improve,’ she is always searching to find a better way and share it with those around her. In her off-time, when not driving the streets as an Uber mom, Nicole enjoys cycling the hills of Morris County, crafting as a way to meditate the mind, and relishing early mornings of quietude as her children are still nestled in their beds.

Paul Diaz is a Southern California-born and raised happy-go-lucky guy. He has an extensive background in sales and implementing DEI training across the globe for startups and Fortune 500s. He prides himself in relationship building with clients to ensure a long-lasting partnership. Being dedicated to his work, he has personally felt the positive cultural impact DEI training has on organizations. During his 15 years living in LA, Paul has worked as an actor and has starred in dozens of commercials and TV shows including, Criminal Minds, Speechless, and The Young and the Restless. As an avid globetrotter, Greece and Spain are his favorite countries. Although he is mildly allergic to cats, Paul adopted Gary and Willy in 2020. We could not resist also showcasing their photos.

As Chief Revenue Officer at SHIFT HR Compliance Training, Timothy Freeman brings more than 30 years of experience in institutional finance, specializing in U.S. equity derivatives and volatility products. Known for driving revenue growth and building collaborative, high-performing teams, Tim has led initiatives that integrated siloed business units into comprehensive client-focused solutions.

Before joining SHIFT, Tim served as Partner in Equity Derivatives at Elevation Securities and Managing Director at Capstone Volatility Markets, where he advised institutional asset managers worldwide on quantitative volatility strategies. Earlier in his career at Merrill Lynch, he led a top-performing equity derivatives sales team while championing diversity, inclusion, and mentorship within the industry.

A respected speaker and guest lecturer at institutions including the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Wharton, Tim has shared insights on capital structure arbitrage and volatility markets with the next generation of finance professionals.

Tim holds an MBA from the University of California, Davis, a BS in Public Service from The Pennsylvania State University, and the CFA designation. His leadership, strategic expertise, and passion for talent development make him an integral part of SHIFT’s continued growth and innovation.

Anne has 24+ years of experience as a relationship builder and trusted advisor in the compliance-driven world of records management. With a strong background in technology-driven solutions, her core skill is to translate client needs into actionable results. Anne knows how to ‘roll with it’ and make the best of any situation; grit is her middle name. She survived being the youngest of seven. Her parents are children of immigrants who came to this country without much and taught their children that nothing is ever gained without working hard. Anne learned that she could be anything she wanted, but that she had to try her best; the world owed her nothing, and she was better than no one. Anne’s grandparents and great-grandparents believed in diversity and inclusion, because without it, they would not have been presented with the opportunities they were given. Anne is proud that she gets to work in a field that helps others shape their paths and allows them to grow and be exposed to greater opportunity than those who came before them.

With more than two decades of experience building and growing brands through marketing and storytelling, Cathy brings a strategic mindset and creative energy to SHIFT. She is passionate about helping organizations transform their workplace cultures and believes that when people feel valued and connected, companies thrive. Throughout her career, Cathy has championed organizations that make a difference, whether that meant inspiring people to travel the world or building communities that elevate consumer experiences. She loves blending strategy with creativity to bring ideas to life in ways that leave a lasting impact. Outside of work, Cathy is a proud mom of two boys and an active volunteer in her school and temple communities. She is often found organizing fundraising events, leading leadership development seminars, and organizing ways to bring people together to make an impact. In her downtime, you can find her in her creative element—cooking, crafting, decorating, or writing.

After earning a degree in Marketing from Seton Hall University, Kristin began her career in New York City in financial technology support, eventually leading to a role as a trading assistant in the Private Client department at Goldman Sachs. After 12 years in NYC, Kristin and her family moved to the Jersey Shore where she dedicated herself full-time to raising her family. During this time, Kristin and her sister founded Big Hearts to Little Hearts, a non-profit organization which raised over $500K in five years for the Cardiac Care Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). This cause is near and dear to Kristin’s heart as her niece received lifesaving surgery at CHOP when she was just nine days old. Kristin’s passion for getting things done has resulted in being lovingly referred to as “The Tornado” by her family, and she is excited to bring that energy to SHIFT! When not “tornadoing” around the house, Kristin loves spending time at the beach, playing tennis, and traveling with her family.

With 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, operations, and client service, Jen rejoined the workforce after a professional hiatus to manage her most important clients yet – twin girls! Jen’s career started in account management at an ad agency, which led to roles in sales management. And now, Jen is thrilled to focus on helping employers SHIFT their workplace cultures. Jen’s volunteer work includes 25 years as a healthcare liaison, helping advanced stage cancer patients navigate healthcare systems. Eight years ago, Jen and her daughters founded Reading Rocks!, a book club focused on girl’s empowerment. During the pandemic, Jen and her daughters founded a micro startup that makes mask holders, donating many of their products to frontline healthcare workers. She considers herself to be a foodie, re-creating recipes she first tries at restaurants. Often referred to as a fruit ninja for her knife skills, she can break down a whole watermelon in under ninety seconds. In her spare time, Jen is passionate about barre classes, Broadway shows, art projects, and raising strong young women.

Joanna brings decades of senior-level HR experience across complex, global organizations. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Global Corporate and Investment Banking at Bank of America, based in New York and Hong Kong. Throughout her career, Joanna has partnered closely with executive leadership and HR teams to drive meaningful, compliant, and inclusive workplace practices. Her expertise spans the full HR lifecycle, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, compensation strategy, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and HR policy implementation. Joanna is known for her ability to translate real-world HR challenges into clear, actionable solutions that support both employees and organizations. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Joanna is deeply committed to community service. She is actively involved with the Boston College Mentoring Program, the Summit Educational Foundation, the Summit Area YMCA, and the Junior League of Summit, and serves on the boards of both the Overlook Auxiliary and Clearwater Swim Club in Summit.

With over 10 years of experience in the financial industry, Jenny brings her passion for inclusion and diversity to SHIFT as the Finance & Office Manager. After starting her career in banking, working on front-office foreign exchange systems across trading floors, Jenny took a break to raise her two sons. She prides herself on being a creative problem-solver, as evidenced by her creation of a 5th grade Odyssey of the Mind program to teach students how to develop and use their natural creativity to become problem-solvers. With a commitment to helping those who are less fortunate, Jenny then returned to the workforce at New Eyes, a non-profit organization that provides free eyeglasses to low-income individuals and families. As an advocate for embracing differences, Jenny believes that everyone’s role contributes to success – both at work and at home. From spending time with family and friends, meeting new people, traveling, gardening, and trying new recipes for her husband to taste test, Jenny’s positivity is unstoppable.
