As an employment law attorney, Suzanne has devoted her career to representing employers, helping them avoid litigation wherever possible, and rigorously litigating cases in all areas of employment law. Suzanne is a strategic partner and trusted advisor to all her clients. She grew up in a loud Italian family that loves to eat and talk, more like argue, about politics. Suzanne is the mother of three children, and she completed the Big Sur Marathon with Katherin, when her oldest daughter, now nineteen, was only one. One of her proudest running accomplishments is completing a half marathon in under two hours. She is passionate, some might say addicted, to coffee and feminism, always striving for equality for everybody.
Katherin is the Co-Founder and President of SHIFT HR Compliance Training, a leading provider of HR compliance and workplace culture training. A practicing attorney and founding partner of Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, P.C. she brings over 30 years of employment law expertise advising Fortune 500 companies on managing risk, avoiding litigation, and fostering accountability. A trusted advisor, speaker, and thought leader, Katherin developed SHIFT to revolutionize compliance training through empathy, storytelling, and legal precision – reframing required education into a lever for cultural transformation. Today, SHIFT’s legally rigorous, behavior-changing courses are trusted by organizations nationwide to meet mandates, reduce risk, and build workplaces rooted in respect and inclusion.
As a seasoned employment law attorney, training instructor, and thought leader in the industry, Katherin brings a wealth of expertise to her partnerships with clients. With a focus on risk management, compliance, and productivity, she helps organizations create better workplaces that foster growth, innovation, and success.
Katherin’s passion for employment law was innate as she is the granddaughter of an Estonian Immigrant who was discriminated against in hiring and was imprisoned because of his peaceful socialistic views which he shared in his role as Founder and Editor in Chief of the first national Estonian American newspaper. The ACLU successfully won his case before the US Supreme Court in Michael Nukk vs the United States, firmly implanting the Nukk family’s dedication to equality.
Outside of work, Katherin is a proud mother of three and a devoted football and lacrosse mom, supported by her amazing husband. She’s also an avid fan of hard-hitting tennis, California hikes, international travel, and leadership and unconscious bias literature. Driven by her incurable optimism and passion for problem-solving, Katherin approaches each challenge with a solutions-oriented mindset. She embraces feedback and data-driven analysis to identify better approaches and drive positive behaviors and decisions. For Katherin, it all starts with family, good friends, and wonderful colleagues, who inspire her to bring her best to everything she does.

Anne has 24+ years of experience as a relationship builder and trusted advisor in the compliance-driven world of records management. With a strong background in technology-driven solutions, her core skill is to translate client needs into actionable results. Anne knows how to “roll with it”, and make the best of any situation; grit is her middle name. She survived being the youngest of seven. Anne learned that you can be anything you want, but you better try your best; the world owes you nothing, and you are better than no one. Anne’s grandparents and great-grandparents believed in diversity and inclusion, because without it, they would not have been presented with the opportunities they were given. Anne is proud that she gets to work in a field that helps others shape their paths and allows them to grow and be exposed to greater opportunity than those who came before them.
