[Chatham, NJ] — In today’s evolving workplace, strong HR leadership is essential to supporting people while navigating growing complexity. With that in mind, SHIFT HR Compliance Training is excited to welcome Joanna Santiago as our new Director of Human Resources, reinforcing our commitment to thoughtful, practical, and people-centered HR leadership.

Joanna brings decades of senior-level HR experience across complex, global organizations. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Global Corporate and Investment Banking at Bank of America, based in New York and Hong Kong.

Throughout her career, Joanna has partnered closely with executive leadership and HR teams to drive meaningful, compliant, and inclusive workplace practices. Her expertise spans the full HR lifecycle, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, compensation strategy, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and HR policy implementation. Joanna is known for her ability to translate real-world HR challenges into clear, actionable solutions that support both employees and organizations.

“Throughout my career, I’ve focused on bringing a practical, human lens to HR so people-first decisions translate into meaningful business results,” said Joanna Santiago, Director of Human Resources at SHIFT. “That’s what excites me most about joining SHIFT. Effective training should reflect the realities HR leaders and employees face every day, and SHIFT’s approach makes that possible. I’m deeply passionate about helping people succeed through meaningful, engaging learning experiences and about fostering inclusive, respectful workplaces where individuals feel supported and valued.”

Joanna’s approach aligns closely with SHIFT’s mission to deliver compliance and workplace culture training that goes beyond checking a box and instead builds trust, accountability, and belonging in the workplace.

“Joanna’s depth of experience and her unwavering commitment to employees and ethical leadership elevate our work in powerful ways,” said Katherin Nukk-Freeman, Co-Founder and President of SHIFT HR Compliance Training. “Her perspective helps ensure we continue to practice the same standards we advocate for and remain deeply connected to the realities HR leaders navigate every day.”

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Joanna is deeply committed to community service. She is actively involved with the Summit Educational Foundation, the Summit Area YMCA, and the Junior League of Summit, and serves on the boards of both the Overlook Auxiliary and Clearwater Swim Club in Summit.

Joanna’s appointment reflects SHIFT’s continued investment in senior HR leadership and our belief that compliance training is most effective when informed by those who have lived the work.

Please join us in welcoming Joanna Santiago to the SHIFT team.
