New York State: Section 201-G of the Labor Law
All employers must adopt a written sexual harassment prevention policy and provide annual, interactive training for every employee. The policy and training materials must be given at hire and each year thereafter, and employers are required to keep records of completion.
New York City: Local Law 96 (Stop Sexual Harassment in NYC Act)
Employers with 15 or more workers must provide annual, interactive training to all employees, including part-time staff, interns, and qualifying contractors. They must also post required notices, give new hires an information sheet, and retain records of compliance for at least three years.
