Currently, nine jurisdictions, –California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, New York, Chicago, New York City, and Washington, DC, have broad requirements for employers to provide training on sexual harassment, workplace harassment, and discrimination. This represents an increase from only seven jurisdictions in 2019.
Additionally, Virginia and Washington have some limited training requirements in place. Failing to comply with these obligations can result in financial penalties, and employers who neglect to train their workforce, may face challenges in fostering respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free work environments.
Join SHIFT’s webinar on The Growing Field of Workplace Harassment Training Requirements, where Our Co-Founder and President, Katherin Nukk-Freeman, will provide a comprehensive overview of the training requirements across the country. She will also discuss significant legislation that might introduce additional training obligations in the near future, along with sharing training best practices.
