Maintain the Momentum of DEIB During Times of Uncertainty
SHIFT recently sponsored an HR.com research survey, “The Future of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging 2023 – State of the Industry.” The survey asked HR professionals to rate their organizations on DEIB performance including representation, pay equity, training, and challenges. The results revealed that while DEIB training initiatives are on the rise, there is more progress to be made. A workplace needs to be a representation of the society that we live and work in. Equal representation, at all levels of employment including leadership, isn’t just about checking the box, it’s about shaping the future of your organization.
Having a diverse team is proven to build creativity, innovation, growth, and a higher retention rate. Leaders must not only acknowledge the barriers to DEI training, but also take action and prioritize this type of training, for all employees, and continue to push for more DEIB initiatives as the business expands.
