35% of employees are bullied in the workplace and 96% of employees have experienced incivility in their organization.
A 2019 survey showed that half of targeted employees experienced deterioration of their mental health and/or physical health, yet bullying in the workplace is not illegal in the US. However, targeted employees and employers alike suffer consequences associated with pervasive bullying in the workplace. A 2018 study found that on average $8,800, is the annual amount lost in wages, along with 200 hours of productivity and 72% of targeted employees quit their jobs.
To prevent workplace bullying from either continuing or starting within the office, we have built training programs for our clients to help educate their workforce. Our course, Creating a Culture of Civility and Respect in the Workplace, can be offered to both supervisors and non-supervisory employees and will define workplace bullying and provide examples as to how an employee can intervene if they witness bullying.
