WEBINAR: LISTEN HERE
1 Hour Webinar
The response to SHIFT’s Q&A webinar on How to Be an Upstander in the Face of Racism was overwhelming. We received many follow-up questions about how to implement Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) plans into the workplace. Specifically, attendees inquired about ways to speak to employees, how to measure the current cultural state of their company, and what additional steps to take to effectuate change. As a result, this webinar addresses many of these and other related questions.
During this Q&A style webinar our Co-Founder and President, Katherin Nukk-Freeman, Esq., and our special guest, Kam Wong, Esq., Vice President, Corporate Counsel, Employment & Labor Law at Prudential Insurance Co. of America, provided clear and actionable steps on how to implement next-level anti-racist programs within your organizations.
Our speakers reviewed the 5 E’s Framework: Education, Empathy, Encouragement, Evaluation and Evolution, discussing topics such as:
- Strategies for educating your workforce on key concepts related to understanding and overcoming systemic racism in the workplace; including books and documentary recommendations
- Effective training topics covered by organizations to effectuate positive change
- Tactics to build connections to create empathy amongst employees
- Critical policies/processes to promote anti-racist behaviors, inclusive of recruiting and hiring
- Surveying employees to assess their sentiment
- Examples of organizational DEIB goals and ways to track progress
Listen to our presenters speak on this vital topic and learn how to take action and get your organization on the right path. Ensure all employees feel like they are heard and that they belong. It’s time to build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive culture!
