WEBINAR: WATCH HERE

In the three decades since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, employment has remained an elusive goal for many people with disabilities. In 2020, 17.9% of people with disabilities were employed, compared with 61.8% of those without disabilities, according to the U.S. Labor Department.

To create a more diversified and inclusive workplace, HR leaders must address the needs of employees with all abilities. They need to ensure that employees with disabilities feel like they belong and that their work environment is conducive to their success.

SHIFT’s webinar focused on the topic of Disability Etiquette to provide insights for HR leaders into how to best achieve the above goals of diversity, equity and inclusion for their employees with disabilities.

Our Co-Founder and President, Katherin Nukk-Freeman, Esq., discussed with Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at New Jersey Resources, Lori Ferguson:

  • Defining “disability” and types of disabilities
  • Employer responsibilities: Opportunities vs. Obligations
  • Benefits of hiring employees with disabilities and neurodiversity
  • Best practices for creating an inclusive workplace for employees with disabilities
  • How to integrate disability etiquette into your organization

Watch SHIFT’s webinar to find out more about this highly underutilized talent pool and what you can do to attract and retain employees with disabilities and neurodiversity.
